Getting the honor of serving the king, I have to capture one hundred doves for his wedding. This is the king’s choice of food and if I fail he will be very disappointed in me for my poor ability to capture doves. I am Hugh and in the short story "The Hundredth Dove" this is what I do I serve the king to make him happy. This tale is most noticed for the mode of literature and the great symbolism which explains itself throughout.

The mode of literature is one of the most, if not the most, important part about this novella. This particular mode of literature is romance because nothing goes wrong or even close to out of control. Another huge reason that this is a romance is because he catches a beautiful white dove every day of the week and it somehow manages to escape from the net this was one of the mild conflicts. Lastly Hugh killed the white dove this was death which was also a conflict in the story because the king could not get married this did not relate to a romance though it was more of a tragedy in the end.

There are numerous things to be clarified about the symbolism. The biggest symbol that isn't quiet noticed at first is that the king’s new wife means dove and later in the fable she is a dove. Second when the white dove slipped out of the net this symbolized how she didn’t belong to him and to someone else. The third thing was the dove's black eyes it showed that there was a different side to her life that no one knew about but in the end Hugh found out by the end of the story. The last thing is that in the end Hugh never sees another dove again and that represents how the sadness that the king now has.

When you are serving the king you would not disobey him. Ones thoughts about failing to do a task that the king requests is disappointment and to disregard you. What it comes down to is to obey him as well as you can and getting as close as you can to his request. There were many things along with the symbolism that were unreal and to happy for real life that is what made this tale a romance.
Bull Run

On July 21, 1861 the First Battle of Bull Run occurred. I was in the middle of the fields prepared for anything, then out of nowhere came a giant 20 pound cannon ball. This was the beginning, the beginning of a long well matched battle. Before they knew how long the battle was going to be spectators gathered at the sidelines almost and they ended up getting stuck in the middle of the battle and most of them died. I honestly felt bad for them but it was their idiotic choice. The suffering of many of our fellow soldiers was outrageous because of the lack of supplies America had for healing.

It started out as a peaceful day, ordinary. Gen. P. G. T. Beauregard Lead the Rebs to the Northern half of the U.S. They started to attack us, the Union. Little did anyone know this was the beginning of the American Civil War. Almost everyone that was observing this what was supposed to be a minor, swift battle. Once the battle was on its way most of the young soldiers wandered off the battle grounds because of the extreme heat. That same day we reached our objective along a stream known as Bull Run. One of the Confederate spies gave a warning of what was happening and allowed Southern reinforcements to be moved from the Shenandoah Valley to Manassas. And thus was born the Civil War.

As we were there resting, the Gray backs had a sneak attack on us. Next thing I knew I had a bayonet through my chest. I fell to the ground in an instant. It was so cold and my hands were trembling from the great pain in my chest. In the few seconds that there were left in my life, one of the soldiers walked by looked down with almost a depressed look and walked away this happened with three other men but finally one person stopped and stayed with me the last seconds and as he walked away all I could see was us celebrating about our first victory of the war.

The first battle of Bull Run was the beginning of the Civil War. Over the first year I was watching over the North and asking God if he could help us get the greater advantages over the south. As we got closer to our victory over the Rebs we got less and less help. When the war was over I got chills down my spine because of the joy in my heart. I only wish I could have lived through what had happened only in the very first battle of the war…

One night you are relaxing to some mind numbing T.V. while babysitting your little brother and sister.

You hear an amazingly loud bang come from one of the upstairs bedrooms. Tip toeing up the stairs you are being as quiet as possible.

You hear the bang again now but this time from a different room.

You turn around to go into the other room: as you are approaching the room there is a loose floor board and when you step on it the sound is like a shriek of terror. The chill it sends down your spine is almost telling you that there is evil in the mysterious room.

When you make it to the doorway there is a different noise, like communication but not of this world.

As your hand is grasping for the door you are quivering so much it feels unreal. What is compelling you to reach for the door and not just turn and run?

Finally after what seemed like an hour, your hand has reached the door knob.

You rip the door open to the closet. There is nothing there.

You walk in unaware of what was coming next. Your heart calms to see an empty closet and notice there are clothes scattered everywhere on the closet floor. You start to pick them up.

In the middle of all this you feel breathing on the back of your neck. Your heart skips a beat.

With goose bumps on your arms and legs you turn around scared to death about what might be behind you. You let out a yelp.

You turn around as you are falling to the floor, only to see your little brother and sister that were supposed to be in bed and asleep.

Still not emotionally recovered from what happened you put the little ones back to bed once again. As you return to watch T.V. your mind races to figure out what was real and what was your imagination.

You convince yourself that your mind was playing tricks on you and you are already beginning to forget as your mind returns to comfortably numb and when you hear the loud bang again.
Just moving to town is hard it really makes you know who your true friends are. My life is difficult its not easy moving to a new town and it changes you and your friends. My first feeling when I was leaving my old house for good was why did this have to happen to me why couldn't it be someone Else's family that my dad works with. When we first got to our new house my only friends were my family and my dog. It was lonely and boring. One of the things that made me feel even more lonely was that when I smiled at Squeaky she gave me a dirty look like she hated me and was going to crush me in the race. Then after the race even though I came in second i gave her another smile to congratulate her on her victory against me, i hoped she wouldn't glare at me again. This time she didn't though and i thought to myself "huh maybe she doesn't hate me, maybe she things I'm a nice person and not over confident." Now me and Squeaky are great friends and we don't make fun of people for picking on her brother we just tell them sternly not to say that again just because he isn't mentally stable.
