Equality

Imagine having a buzzer in your ear that goes off every 20 seconds. This lets you know how long people with an average mind think so that everyone is equal and no one is smarter than anyone else. To Harrison this was very unfair because he had a very high intelligence level and the Hazel did not. There are many reasons in which this short story "Harrison Bergeron" was a irony and not just that but also the how unrealistic it was.

2081 is the year that this Irony takes place in. This is a nightmare vision of reality because no country could ever make someone do that because they would probably end up moving to a different country. No one smarter than average would want that to be their life at all. One of the other major reasons why this is and irony is because it is in the future and nothing in this book is perfect except for the fact that Hazel and that is because she doesn't really worry about anything.

The year was 2081. This is one of the many things that is unrealistic in "Harrison Bergeron" although it is not all unrealistic like the television they watched the ballerinas on. One of the other unreal parts is that there are no technology advancements at all that they list, everything would probably he bigger and better and much more. The last reason is that there are buzzers in the ears of a brainy individual.

There were many things that were unreal in this short story and how it was a nightmare vision of reality. When someone is brighter that the average being, one would be grateful but not if you had a buzzing device that told you not to think any longer. But no matter what you try to do you'll still have to wear it. When you can only live like an average person your life will be miserable and dreary but you can't do anything about it so move on and live life to its full potential.
